Dr Amrit Takhar

Dr Takhar has been a GP in Wansford and Kings Cliffe practice for over 30 years initially has a partner and more recently as a sessional Research GP.
In addition, he is currently CRN Eastern Region speciality lead for Primary care research and serves on research trial steering groups.
Dr Takhar has extensive primary care experience in teaching as GP trainer and NHS commissioning, as well as roles as member of Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Local medical committees.
He completed an MSc in Information Systems in 2004 and subsequently been very active in clinical research, leading the practice in over 60 interventional primary care studies. Areas of research interest include cardiovascular medicine, vaccines, respiratory disease, diabetes and dermatology.
He led the research time in 2019 to winning the RCGP/NIHR award for research practice of the year. He has been a speaker at international meetings on commercial studies in primary care and undertaking complex trial in general practice.
He has published a number of research papers on primary care research and psoriasis.
